A pack of goblins attack the princess and her knight. The knight draws her sword when the princess declares that, as a fellow bandit, she won't be protected anymore and brandishes . . . her claws?

Yeah! Her claws. Then they fight off the monsters and loot their stuff. It ain't great but they can sell it off when they get around to leavin' the country. [wait] Kingdom.

What's stopping them from leaving right now?

Isn't the knight technically one of them? It wouldn't make sense for all of them to be cat people when she isn't.

The knight. They're usually way more disposable than the princess, y'know? They'd die for their lord or whatever.

What's their impression of the situation, anyway? Do they think the knight has seduced their princess, or is the princess a traitor to her kingdom now?

They're still tryin' to get her back. For uh... princessy reasons. [He doesn't know] So let's go with the knight has seduced the princess and they want them to come back. To throw the knight in jail for crimes against the state.

There's just two? We got five counties.

It's just one continent out of the rest of the world, and there are three countries. One just happens to be a nation of elves. There are more places beyond Bermesiah, and many uncharted lands on Aernas besides.
