She is grabbing something to eat when she spots him. ]

[He's just about to bring his goodies back to a table for consumption when she stops him.

There's a splint along the entire length of his left leg, which means he's just been hobbling around when someone isn't helping him out with a shoulder. A jury-rigged condom splint over his glove keeps his right wrist straight. Bandaids cover the fingers of his left hand and a spot on his right cheek, but not the bite marks from the previous week that are mostly healed by this point.]

Yeah.

How about you? Find anything?

[ sieghart, get yourself a crutch. also, condom splint really is such a concept and i hate it.

... She kind of wants to call bullshit, but. ]

No. Nothing. You?

[He'll buy one later, maybe.]

She sits down near whatever table he's at. ]

The athletics field. He was just outside the building.

Isn't that where the last one was found?

[ She frowns. ]

But as much as we dislike it, we'll have to endure another trial tomorrow.

Yeah, it sucks.

What happened yesterday?

[It does suck, and he helps himself to some of that breakfast in order to cope with a full belly.]

Oh, this and that. We were put to the test by a voice around our necks.

What? What'd it ask you to do?

[ She follows suit. She doesn't necessarily need to cope, but starving yourself is stupid. ]

It told us to steal an airship out of the hangar and fly to a nearby island. We managed to thieve the craft, but were shot out of the sky near shore.

That's where most of the damage happened.

[ an airship.... what does that look like... ]

Did you get hurt from the crash or something else?

We only had two parachutes between the four of us. Our water landing wasn't the best.

[ Oh, that sounds like a shitty time. She doesn't wince, but the sentiment is there even though.... she has no idea what a parachute is, probably. ]

Is that where you got --

[ Everything he has a splint for? ]

Yeah. And it's mostly the same for the other three.

But landing in the water didn't kill us. We made it to shore by swimming. From there, we reached a cathedral on the other side of a jungle.

We faced off against illusions of people we know. After that, we met the owner of the voice, who dropped off some papers.

[ She feels like he's making this seem simpler than it is for all the injuries they sustained and for how mad people looked coming out of there. ]

Is that all?

That's all.

[He watches her for a moment, considering.]

. . . But there were several hiccups along the way. That place didn't follow the typical rules of life and death.

[ Oh, she's a little surprised because she would have accepted him not saying more. They're not close. ]

I heard that you died and came back to life a stupid fucking amount.

[She tried to kill Principal Bear. She can have this knowledge.]

It wasn't that many . . . But it's more than most people would be used to.

I used to have an invincible body. Death was never permanent for me.

[overshaded]

[ She doesn't have an invincible or immortal body, but she's suffered enough wounds she should have died from and came back, not always of her own volition. ]

... I get that, a little. It's tiring.
