[Sieghart is outside, limping around as best as he can with a splint that covers the entirety of his left leg. It doesn't seem to affect his mood as he greets Luxanna.]

Hey, Luxanna. How's the excitement been treating you?

[ she comes over to walk with him, mostly so that he doesn't have to come closer on his own. jeez. ]

Miserably, as I'm sure you're surprised to hear.

You can never predict what's going to happen in this place. Even the things that should be routine go off-track like this . . .

I was not thrilled with Manwol's decision, but I understood and I accepted it.

[ speaking of it actually has her trembling with repressed fury. ] And they - took even that from us.

The possibility of that was always there from the moment Otome was pitted against Kaoruko. We may have gotten our hopes up too high.

. . . Even so, a little bit of hope is better than nothing.

We are still learning the rules of this place.

[ but given that the executioner seems to be chosen at random, she can't exactly say this information is helpful. it doesn't help that the person voted for has a chance to live when it means someone random dies in their place. ]

I'd like us to do it faster, but even the pace of learning seems to be set by this place.
