[Throughout the day, Sieghart flags down anyone whose path he crosses to inform them of a dinner party. For those in their rooms, he raps on the door and delivers the same invitation before going on his merry way to take his nap in the parlor.

Come evening, the dining room boasts a wide spread of food prepared by Souji—chicken wings, grilled onigiri, grilled fish, tempura veggies, gyoza, and tomato egg stirfry—along with desert in the form of a chocolate cake by Alphinaud. Bottles of wine have been relocated for easy drinking. Virgo is here, probably. There's an additional placemat set out for Flayn.]

[This is the worst, simply because he dislikes the arduous task of typing.]

Is that even a valid dare? I'd have to go to the room to get it done.

Hm? Then it won't be my responsibility if we happen to all get out of here before I have the chance to finish the letter, will it?

If you don't write it yourself before the end of tomorrow, then I'll write it on your behalf.

You're going to write a letter and sign it with my name? Who do you even think I'd write to?

You could dictate it to me and I could write it for you! I wouldn't be so unkind as to send off something unchecked to a person you didn't choose yourself.

[Then Souji's undead ghost will haunt him for his next few thousand years of life.]

I suppose by a definition, robbing that samurai when I was a toddler...? It wasn't usual for me, at least.

[He has done so much shit that other people would consider weird outside of that, but unfortunately he himself doesn't.]

[This is the sort of scoop for which he was looking. Souji's mind doesn't run the way most people's minds do, so of course it would skip over memories from his formative years that might qualify as weird for others.]

What did you rob a samurai for?

[STOP LOOKING FOR SCOOPS IN HIS WEIRD MIND PALACE. He at least has the humility to look vaguely sheepish about this though...]

He saw me staring at his katana while I was playing with a toy sword on the street and teasingly challenged me, saying he would give me his sword if I beat him...

[LISTEN. Technically he won, but by societal and bushi standards it really was just a humiliating robbery committed by a 3 year old. HE STOLE THAT SAMURAI'S SOUL.]

[In Sieghart's mind, that's the samurai's problem. Some geniuses and prodigies bloom within their first year. It's not like Souji demanded the duel.]

Didn't you say that you robbed him? If he challenged you and you won, what was the problem?

[At least he knows by now that this is a Mindset Thing, so he just laughs and waves a hand.]

It's the principle of the matter, Si-san.

Hmm . . .

[Far be it from him to decry principles.]

I suppose that would be weird for most.

[It's the "being hunted for years after taking that sword by a weird little gremlin that may or may not have been a violent sword spirit that stole his face" that's the truly weird part.]

It's only happened once in my life, at the very least! Most everything else that might count as weird has happened at least twice.

[Truly, Souji breaks the laws of his reality.

Sieghart nods.]

When you live long enough, anything can happen more than once.

[He really does...]
